Samar infra project deal up for bidding

Millennium Challenge Account-Philippines (MCA-P) is set to bid out in June a contract for the rehabilitation of a 64.6-kilometer road section in Samar under the $214.4-million Secondary National Roads Development Project.

In a statement, MCA-P said the contract would cover the rehabilitation of the road from the San Julian/Sulat municipal boundary to Balangkayan/Llorente municipal boundary in Eastern Samar. The project will be funded by the US-backed Millennium Challenge Corp.

The contract duration is 1,095 days with the project expected to start on August 15.

A pre-bid conference will be held on May 9, while deadline for bid submission is June 15.

MCA-P said the 64.6-km rehab project would be one of the four projects to be undertaken under the $214-million SNRDP, a 224-kilometer road project.

The other three contracts will cover the 16.3-km road project from Buray Junction to Barangay (village) Tinani in the municipality of Paranas; a 63.8-km road project from Barangay Tinani to San Julian/Sulat Municipal boundary; and the 79.5-km project from Balangkayan/Llorente municipal boundary to Guiuan, all in Samar.
