SSS announces 3-year pension increase sans contribution hike

MANILA, Philippines — The Social Security System (SSS) announced a three-year pension increase starting September 2025, a move that will benefit 3.8 million pensioners without imposing a contribution hike.

After three years, pensions will have increased by approximately 33 percent for retirement/disability pensioners and 16 percent for death/survivor pensioners.

The increases will be implemented annually in three tranches, each September, as follows:

By September 2025 (for pensioners as of 31 August 2025)

  • 10 percent increase – Retirement and Disability Pensioners
  • 5 percent increase – Death or Survivor Pensioners

By September 2026 (for pensioners as of 31 August 2026)

By September 2027 (for pensioners as of 31 August 2027)
