Power supply normal post-Crising, says NGCP

MANILA, Philippines – Grid operator National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said the country’s power supply remained normal as no transmission facilities had been damaged following the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Crising (international name: Wipha).

“All NGCP transmission facilities are currently under normal conditions,” NGCP said in an advisory.

But while grid operations across the archipelago were still stable as of Monday, July 21, NGCP said it would continue to closely monitor the situation.

The grid operator said it was ready to operate its Overall Command Center round-the-clock “should any threats to transmission operations arise due to the monsoon rains and other weather disturbances.”
