Marcos calls on Tsinoy business group to champion SMEs

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday encouraged the newly elected officers of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FFCCCII) to champion small and medium-sized enterprises for inclusive growth.

The Chief Executive was keynote speaker at the oath-taking ceremony of 265 FFCCCII officials in Binondo, Manila.

Marcos said their leadership should encompass not only large enterprises but also small and medium-sized businesses.

“By uplifting them, you are also uplifting the entire economy and the entire nation,” he said.

“I challenge you now to lead with clarity. Steer our industries towards innovative strategies that are globally competitive, sustainable, and ready for the future,” Marcos added.

Moreover, the President commended the FFCCCII for its commitment to national progress since 1954.

“True progress does not happen overnight. It is built patiently and purposefully by those who believe in something greater than themselves,” he said.

“In all these endeavors, the FFCCCII has been a reliable foundation for bridging differences between communities, laying the groundwork for growth, and harnessing the strength of collective action,” Marcos added.

The FFCCCII advocates business and economic growth while supporting various philanthropic and civic initiatives.
