MANILA, Philippines – Vantage Energy, an affiliate retail electricity supplier of Manuel Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco), will deliver power to food manufacturing firms in Mindanao.
According to Meralco, Vantage sealed power supply agreements with Philippine Spring Water Resources, Inc., the manufacturer of bottled water brand Nature’s Spring, and Cagayan Corn Products Corp., a company that produces cornstarch, corn grits, and other key feed ingredients.

This was made possible through the government’s competitive retail electricity market (CREM).
Under CREM, qualified power customers consuming at least 500 kilowatts every month can choose and tap their own energy supplier based on their specific requirements.
Overseen by the Energy Regulatory Commission, this program seeks to promote competition in the market while offering the public more options for their power supply.
Vantage Energy president Ernesto Cabral said the company was seeing “tremendous growth potential” in the Mindanao region.
“Our new strategic partnerships with local businesses not only mark the beginning of a more energized and dynamic region but also reflect the broader momentum of development beyond the capital,” he said in the statement.
“With our goal to deliver a stable and dependable electricity supply, we are committed to providing comprehensive and innovative solutions that will help fuel Mindanao’s economic growth and sustainable development,” Cabral added.
In 2024, the firm also secured a deal with Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. for the latter’s five manufacturing facilities in Luzon and the Visayas.
Vantage Energy has been serving contestable customers across the country since 2017.
Earlier this year, MPower, the retail electricity supply arm of Meralco, clinched a long-term deal to supply renewable energy to SM Retail properties, such as its headquarters in Pasay City.
