Kevin Tan named MREIT chair; Jose Batac will be president and CEO

Kevin Tan will serve as chair of Megawide starting June 1, 2025.

MANILA, Philippines — MREIT Inc., the real estate investment trust arm of developer Megaworld Corp., has appointed Kevin Tan its new chair. This takes effect on June 1.

Also, MREIT chief operating officer Jose Batac was elected president and CEO. He replaces Tan next month.

Tan is the president of conglomerate Alliance Global Group Inc., the parent firm of MREIT sponsor Megaworld. He concurrently serves as an executive director of AGI.

Under his leadership at MREIT, the company grew its gross leasable area to 482,000 square meters.

Batac, on the other hand, has been with Megaworld for a decade and has led the company’s estate management group. 

He later headed the corporate ventures and partnership arm before his appointment as COO.
