GMA Network profit rockets to P801.68M

GMA Network’s bottom line ballooned by nearly fourfold during the first quarter of 2025

MANILA, Philippines — GMA Network Inc. grew its net income by nearly fourfold to P801.68 million in the first quarter. This was attributed to stronger advertising revenues due to elections.

Advertising revenues rose by 29 percent to P4.34 billion for the period. Meanwhile, GMA Network’s top line figure improved by 28 percent to P4.68 billion.

“Television and radio broadcasting both enjoyed upbeat sales, buoyed by the influx of political advocacies and advertisements in view of the upcoming mid-term elections this May,” the Gozon-led media company said in its latest financial report.

Production and direct costs in the first quarter increased by 7 percent to nearly P2 billion. The bulk of the expenses were accounted for by talent fees and production personnel costs. This rose by 14 percent to P1.06 billion.
