New P1.35/liter oil price hike set this week

MANILA, Philippines – Motorists will see higher prices of petroleum products as April ends, with fuel retailers increasing prices by as much as P1.35 a liter.

In separate advisories on Monday, Petro Gazz, CleanFuel, and Seaoil said gasoline prices would go up by P1.35 a liter beginning Tuesday.

Diesel will also see a hike of 80 centavos per liter, while kerosene will be 70 centavos more expensive per liter.

Rodela Romero, assistant director of the Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau, earlier said potential supply issues and the decline in US oil inventories influenced the new round of hikes.

Last week, oil companies raised prices at the pump by more than P1 a liter.
