BDO profits hit P19.7B in the first quarter

BDO saw its bottom line rise by 7 percent in the first three months of 2025

MANILA, Philippines — Sy-led BDO Unibank Inc. netted P19.7 billion in the first quarter of 2025, up by 7 percent year-on-year.

At a press conference, Nestor Tan, company president and CEO, said the first quarter is typically not the strongest season for BDO. The bank usually front-loads its expenses during the period.

Data showed net interest income went up by 6 percent to P47.8 billion. Meanwhile non-interest income surged by 21 percent to P18.6 billion.

Operating expenses, meanwhile, grew by 16 percent to P40.9 billion.
