Marking a significant leap forward in advancing STEM education in the Philippines, Unilab Education, Inc. (From L to R) Unilab Education President Atty. Jose Maria A. Ochave, DOST-ITDI Director Dr. Annabelle V. Briones, and DOST-ITDI Deputy Director for Administrative and Technical Services Dr. Janet F. Quizon signed the MOU formalizing the partnership between the two institutions.

The MOU, signed by Dr. Annabelle V. Briones, Director of DOST-ITDI, and Atty. Jose Maria A. Ochave, President of UniEd, hopes to encourage more students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by providing them hands-on experience in state-of-the-art and industry-relevant equipment and participation in industry-relevant programs and activities. It seeks to expand further the on-the-job training programs of DOST-ITDI, which to date have been provided to hundreds of students who need them for their academic course requirements, by linking them to the actual skill and competency requirements of industry.

“This partnership with DOST-ITDI represents a pivotal moment for UniEd. By helping students develop industry-relevant skills together with DOST-ITDI, we hope to show young people that there can be rewarding and fulfilling careers in science and technology “, said Atty. Ochave.

Dr. Briones emphasized the significance of the collaboration as it is aligned with DOST’s mission to drive national development through science and technology. “DOST-ITDI is committed to transferring research results and providing technical services to industry and the public,” said Dr. Briones. “This partnership with UniEd allows us to directly impact the educational landscape, fostering a generation of STEM professionals who can contribute significantly to our nation’s progress.”
