Meralco hikes electricity rate by 26¢/kwh in March
MANILA, Philippines – Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) has announced a 26-centavo per kilowatt hour (kWh) increase in its electricity rate.
In a briefing on Tuesday, the power distributor said the adjustment would bring the overall rate to P12.2901 per kWh from last month’s P12.0262 per kWh.
This means a household consuming 200 kWh will see an additional P53 in their electricity bill this month.
Meralco said the increase was due to the “conclusion of reset fee adjustment in February, higher transmission charge and feed-in tariff allowance.”
