“We always say that travel is one way to understand the world and to understand people. There’s just so many things that you can learn from a single visit to a place you’ve never been to before. You discover something new about yourself because it lets you out of your comfort zone. And at the same time, it lets you see the bigger picture about the world and give you ideas that challenge your beliefs,” GTBA President and TSE Chairperson Michelle Taylan said.

This year, the Travel Sale Expo is in partnership with Boracay Malay LGU, Philippine Retirement Authority, Tourism Malaysia and Co presented by Department of Tourism. Malaysia as one of its key sponsors and will also be the featured international destination in the three-day event, while Boracay and Cebu will be the featured local destination.

“We’re putting the spotlight on Malaysia this time around. Filipino travelers should definitely put it in their bucket list because Malaysia is such a beautiful country with a vibrant mix of cultures. Plus, it’s also an urban and shopping paradise,” Taylan explained.

As for the featured local destinations, Taylan said Boracay and Cebu remain as the go-to spots for Filipinos and foreign tourists.

“Hindi ‘yan mawawala. In terms of comfort food, ito ‘yung mga destinations na hahanap-hanapin mo. It’s almost like your second home where you’re completely at peace, and at the same time bagong experience every time,” Taylan said.
