PH manufacturing activity rose to six-month high in January, says PSA

MANILA, Philippines — Local factory output opened the year on a positive note after rising to a six-month high in January, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Friday.
The volume of production index (VoPI), a gauge of manufacturing activity, grew by 3.2 percent year-on-year in the first month of 2025, better than the 0.4 percent growth in December 2024.

PSA data showed this was the best VoPI expansion since July 2024’s 7.4 percent.
By industry, manufacture of food products, basic metals and machinery contributed to the increase in VoPI in January.
