MANILA, Philippines — Next-generation business leader John Paul Ang, eldest son of tycoon Ramon S. Ang, continues to assume greater role in conglomerate San Miguel Corp.

He joined the board of liquor maker Ginebra San Miguel Inc. effective March 5, following the board meeting held on the same day.

He filled the vacancy left by Francisco Alejo III, who had stepped down effective Jan. 31.

Paul Ang is currently a director, president and chief operating officer of Ginebra’s parent conglomerate San Miguel. He also holds directorships at Petron Corp,, San Miguel Food and Beverage and Top Frontier Investment Holdings.

At the same time, he is president of Eagle Cement Corp., San Miguel Equity Investments Inc. and vice chair of San Miguel Global Power Holdings Corp. – Doris Dumlao-Abadilla
