Alfredo Panlilio, director of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) and Smart Communications, has been elected the new president of the influential Management Association of the Philippines (MAP), following the controversial departure of KPMG R.G. Manabat and Co. chief operating officer and head of advisory Noel Bonoan.
Bonoan had been elected president last month but stepped down last week amid marital drama.
Because of this, Panlilio will become the MAP’s 77th president instead of Bonoan.
Panlilio, who is also the chair of digital bank Maya, is among the founding members of the digital infrastructure pillar of the Private Sector Advisory Council, according to the MAP.
