DA to sell P40/kg rice at select markets, MRT and LRT stations

The Department of Agriculture (DA) will start selling well-milled rice through its Rice-for-All program at select markets and two MRT and LRT train stations in Metro Manila for P40 a kilo starting tomorrow, Dec. 5.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Agriculture Assistant Secretary Arnel de Mesa said Kadiwa ng Pangulo kiosks offering well-milled rice will be open to the public every Tuesday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

These will be available in the following areas:

De Mesa, also the DA’s spokesperson, said Kadiwa ng Pangulo centers will also be selling well-milled rice beginning tomorrow.

The DA said the latest move is meant to address the discrepancy between elevated retail prices of the staple food and reduced tariffs.
