Olivares family-led housing developer Ovialand Inc. will soon venture into the commercial business segment after launching its second housing project with Japanese developer Takara Leben Co. Ltd.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday night, Ovialand president and CEO Pammy Olivares-Vital said they would build a commercial center within the 9.7-hectare Sentro Properties in Laguna.
The new project will add 746 housing units to Ovialand’s portfolio in San Pablo City.

According to Olivares-Vital, the units will be sold at P3 million to P5 million each, depending on the size.
Turnover of the townhouse, duplex and single detached units will begin in late 2025.
“The launch of Sentro builds on our ongoing fruitful partnership with Takara Leben,” the CEO said during the signing ceremony in Makati City. “This involves us tapping their expertise as we work toward our goal of having a nationwide presence by 2033.”
Takara Leben, whose major developments include condominiums, is a subsidiary of Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed Mirarth Holdings Inc. Its other projects include hotels and offices.
Launched in 2014, Ovialand has so far completed nearly 3,000 housing units in San Pablo alone.
Olivares-Vital explained that the upcoming commercial center within Sentro would take up around a tenth of Sentro’s land area.
”The goal is to supplement the community and their needs, so that everything they need is within reach,” she said. —Meg J. Adonis
