23 more projects added to PPP pipeline
A total of 173 public-private partnership (PPP) projects worth a combined P3.174 trillion are now in the pipeline, following the addition of 23 new projects, data from the Public-Private Partnership Center showed.
Of the 23 new projects, 10 are national projects while 13 are local, according to the updated Oct. 16 list.
The largest among these is the Design Build Finance Operate the Air Navigation Services (Air Traffic Service and Air Navigation Service) of the Philippines project with a total cost of P29.82 billion.
The project entails the construction, modernization and operation of air navigation services facilities, including Air Traffic Service and Communications, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management facilities. This involves upgrading equipment/facilities, implementing redundancy measures, and ensuring compliance with international standards.
Other projects include the Food and Drug License and Clearance System worth P16 million; combined 17-megawatt (MW) Upper Sampaloc and 8-MW Lower Sampaloc Hydroelectric Power Project worth P7.21 billion and the Santiago City Hemodialysis Center worth P36 million.
New additions
Also on the list are the Operations and Maintenance of Pampanga Dialysis Centers project worth P73 million; Operation and Maintenance of Palayan City Hospital (P6 million), PRA Digitalization Project (P32 million), Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Project (P8.45 billion) and the San Juan- Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH Program) worth P1.47 billion.
Article continues after this advertisementThese projects are currently designated as under procurement, competitive challenge, negotiation, approval, development, conceptualization and initial evaluation by implementing agencies.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, a number of PPP projects were also removed from the list.
These include the P97-billion Metro Cebu Expressway, and the Financing, Upgrade, Design and Development, and Operation and Maintenance of the Philippine Identification System, Road Transport IT Infrastructure Project Phase II, Pangasinan-Nueva Ecija Expressway, Dingalan-Capas-Botolan Expressway, Mindoro-Batangas Super Bridge (Floating Bridge), Pacific Eastern Seaboard Expressway (Luzon Eastern Seaboard), Infanta -Atimonan Segment, Criminology Firing Range, Development of the Former Manila Seedling Site Project, Underground Cabling Project Phase 1 and City College Canteen.
The PPP Center also said that the Peza (Philippine Economic Zone Authority) Central System Project and La Mesa Parkways Project are now under implementation with an estimated project cost of P25 million and P15.1 billion, respectively.
