Sales of automotive vehicles in the Philippines grew by 2.4 percent in September, the second slowest performance so far this year, amid softer purchases of commercial vehicles, including heavy-duty and light trucks and buses.

The latest report from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (Campi) and the Truck Manufacturers Association showed that local dealers sold 39,542 vehicles during the month, slightly above the 38,628 units recorded in the same month in 2023.

“There were no new model releases last September, possibly due to the brands’ preparation for the upcoming Philippine International Motor Show in October where we expect new launches will be made,” Campi said in a statement.
