MANILA, Philippines—Gokongwei-led Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) is opening on March 15 a new shopping mall in Calasiao, Pangasinan, the 30th in its growing chain of commercial centers in the country.
In a statement, RLC president Frederick Go said Robinsons Place Pangasinan would be among the biggest shopping malls in the region, with a gross floor area of about 32,000 square meters and a gross leasable area of 25,000 sqm.
Go said RLC had chosen Calasiao for its first mall in Pangasinan because the first-class municipality was strategically located between Dagupan City and San Carlos City, both thriving commercial areas in the province. Calasiao is 15 minutes from Dagupan and 25 minutes from San Carlos City via the major highway.
RLC operates other malls in central and northern Luzon, including two malls in Pampanga and one each in Tarlac, Ilocos Norte, Bulacan and Cabanatuan.
Go said the two-level Robinsons Place Pangasinan was already more than 90 percent leased, anchored by Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Supermarket, Handyman, Robinsons Appliances and Robinsons Movieworld. Robinsons Movieworld operates three cinemas and a 3D cinema with a seating capacity of more than 1,000.
The 3D cinema in the new mall is the first in the region.
