Pru Life UK, one of the leading life insurers in the country, launched a new investment option that would allow customers to invest in a global technology fund managed by ATRAM Trust Corporation.

The PRULink Global Tech Navigator Fund is a peso-denominated fund which would allow consumers to access ATRAM Global Technology Feeder Fund of ATRAM Trust Corporation.

ATRAM’s fund is set to invest in a major global technology fund managed by Fidelity International.

“The PRULink Global Tech Navigator Fund is proof of our purpose to help Filipinos achieve their financial goals. Through our investment-linked insurance products, we want our customers to have access to the growth of tech-driven companies worldwide with a fund that largely invests through ATRAM in the Fidelity Funds – Global Technology Fund of Fidelity International,” Pru Life UK vice president and chief product officer Garen Dee said on Wednesday.

The Fidelity Global Technology Fund is one of the largest technology investment funds in the world, with assets totaling $23.9 billion as of July. ATRAM, a leading asset management firm in the Philippines, manages over P360 billion in assets as of June this year.

Given the tech sector’s strong performance compared to other industries, the PRULink Global Tech Navigator Fund provides an opportunity to invest in stocks of some of the world’s leading technology companies. This includes prominent names in tech such as Alphabet Inc., Amazon.com Inc., Apple Inc., Microsoft Corp, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd.

“These companies are not just at the forefront of technology but are also shaping the future of various industries worldwide,” Pru Life said in a statement.

The life insurance provider highlighted that the fund is suited for both new and existing customers who are willing to take on higher investment risks as it would enable them to invest in US dollar assets using the local currency.

Moreover, it encouraged customers to take advantage of lower prices brought by the current short-term volatility in the market to buy top tech stocks.
