Local glass leader Aguila celebrates 60th year in local automotive business

It’s easy to overlook the accomplishments of Aguila Auto Glass (Universal Glass Co. Inc.), a local manufacturer that for 60 years has been instrumental in providing automakers and even private car owners in the Philippines with one of the most crucial vehicle components: automotive glass.

Indeed, it’s hard to appreciate something that you just look through. But imagine driving without the windshield, the rear, door and quarter glasses—driving would be a much scarier experience.

“With a proud heritage and 60 years of experience, Aguila Auto Glass has become a trusted leader in the local automotive glass market,” announced Pia Borromeo, Aguila Auto Glass marketing manager.

To mark its 60th year as well as to give back to the community it serves, Aguila Auto Glass gathered 200 of its employees and planted 250 young narra trees on one hectare of land inside the La Mesa Eco Park in Quezon City.

“We will protect a hectare of forest for three years to remind us that all our hard work will be in vain if our children will not have a healthy world to live in. Today is indeed special as we celebrate our togetherness and plant seeds for our future,” Borromeo said.

Aguila Auto Glass is also an active partner of community provider Gawad Kalinga wherein the company has been a major provider of window glasses since 2008.
