Filinvest City unveils final phase in its comprehensive park system

Residents, workers and visitors at Filinvest City in Alabang will have one more place to commune with nature as Creekside Park takes shape.
“We’re excited for the commencement of the construction of Creekside Park as this park will complete Filinvest City’s Park System that was intentionally part of our masterplan,” said Don-Don Ubaldo, First Vice President for Filinvest Townships, Filinvest Alabang, Inc.
Construction began just this July for Creekside Park, an aesthetic and functional park on the banks of Alabang River inside the Spectrum District of Filinvest City.
The park will offer recreational spaces, sitting areas, public art and an overview of the river. When Creekside Park is fully built, Filinvest City will cement its place as the only urban development with a Park System in the Philippines and will further solidify itself as the “garden city of Metro South.”
The endeavor highlights real estate titan Filinvest’s dedication to achieving a balanced urban environment and taking part in sustainable development, providing a path forward for many Philippine cities that today struggle to carve out open spaces for the members of their communities.
“As an urban developer committed to such extensive green integration, we are proud to lead the way in creating a sustainable and vibrant urban community,” said Ubaldo.
Creekside Park will complete Filinvest City’s Park System of six interconnected parks:
One component is Central Park at the heart of the expansive development. It is anchored on the northern end by the Festival Mall. People can rent bikes, use Moovr, relax in Smart Bench, and enjoy “Eats by the Park” food bazaar. They can visit the botanical garden and soon enjoy performances on the upcoming Central Park Stage – The Tree.
The Central Park is bisected by the Spectrum Linear Park, an innovative “green spine” spanning across the northern and southern ends of the township. It has tree-canopied walkways and landscaped pathways. People congregate at the seating areas, enjoying conversations and views of stunning outdoor art installations.
The third park is Axis Park, situated in Northgate Cyberzone. It provides a refreshing escape for employees based nearby. They can breathe easy and cool down in one of the seating areas, maximizing the peaceful settings amid the hustle and bustle.
River Park, near Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel, is a serene riverside area where one can clearly hear birds chirping. It is the perfect spot for nature-watching and contemplation. It connects to the Water Garden inside Festival Mall.
At Water Garden, people are welcome to immerse in the gastronomy at the al fresco food bazaar or the spectacular shows at an event space.
Creekside Park, the final addition, will be a must-visit. Its charm lies in its ability to adapt to — and enhance — the natural terrain. This belt along the riverbanks uses sights and sounds from the environment to offer a unique, elevated experience of city and nature.
All six components are interconnected by design, fostering a sense of community among the people who reside, work or visit Filinvest City. Creekside Park itself is connected to River Park via the Corporate Avenue underpass, transforming the whole stretch into a walkable space linking the Spectrum District to the Festival Mall.
Such a design encourages everyone to travel through more active modes — walk, jog or cycle — between different areas of Filinvest City. They can enjoy nature in all its glory, get fit and meet people, all at once.
“The Park System holds special significance to us, for having been integrated into Filinvest City’s masterplan long before outdoor spaces became a trend,” noted Ubaldo. Demand for such spaces rose when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, an event the township predates by some 25 years.
Over the years, reports have shown, rapid urbanization has shrunken Metro Manila’s green spaces. In that backdrop, Filinvest City’s Park System offers a revolutionary solution. It ensures the township will remain a “breathing central business district” of the Metro South by the continues enhancing of the parks.
“We are committed to caring for and preserving the vibrant breathing city we have created, continually developing and expanding open spaces like the upcoming Creekside Park to ensure a thriving community for all,” added Ubaldo.
The Park System introduces wide-ranging benefits to all, going beyond people and resounding to investors.
Filinvest has been committed to eco-friendly practices and sustainability. Homing in on that track record, Filinvest City holds a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification for Neighborhood Development, and is the first and only CBD in the Philippines with a 3-Star Rating for the Pilot Version of Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence (BERDE) Districts. Those make it easier for any investor to obtain LEED certification for their own building and add value to their property.
Now more than ever, wellbeing is a priority among workers worldwide. Those who feel their companies treat them well stay longer and are more productive; those who feel otherwise leave. Filinvest City’s green certifications mean more healthful workplaces. Thanks to the Park System, employees may also easily head over to the green spaces.
The ultimate result is improved quality of life for those who stay at Filinvest City. With green spaces enhancing the urban landscape, the township is rightfully a sought-after premier location for families and professionals alike.
“Incorporating green spaces in Filinvest City is our way of giving back to the community,” said Ubaldo. “We aimed to build a city of progress where people can grow alongside its development. Residents don’t need to leave the city to enjoy nature and fresh air—everything is here.” Ubaldo added.
