Swiss chemical firm unveils P980-M Taguig plant
Sika, a Switzerland-based specialty chemicals company, has completed its new P980-million manufacturing plant in the Philippines.
The unveiling of Sika’s 12,000-square meter facility in Taguig coincided with the 30th anniversary of the company’s presence in the country.
“Over the last six years, we have more than doubled our business in Asia-Pacific region and made two major acquisitions [of] Parex and MBCC,” said Philippe Jost, president of Sika Asia-Pacific.
“This new Taguig plant gives us great hope that the future is bright for the Philippine construction and infrastructure,” Jost said in a statement.

In a followup message to the Inquirer, the company said that it will be producing construction chemicals, such as adhesives and sealants, in the Taguig plant.
Article continues after this advertisementAdditionally, the facility will also be manufacturing grouts, such as structural strengthening products, crack repair products, waterproofing products, building finishing and skim coat products, tile adhesives and flooring products.

Across the globe, it has subsidiaries in 103 countries and has over 400 factories that engage a workforce of more than 33,000 people. INQ
