BOC beats goal anew; collection rose to P75.2 billion in June

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has again exceeded its monthly collection target, after chalking up P75.159 billion in June, beating the monthly goal by 0.92 percent or P685 million.

This was the sixth consecutive month that the BOC surpassed its revenue goals.

This brought the BOC’s first half collection to P456.053 billion, exceeding its revenue collection target for the first half of the year by 3.03 percent or an addition of P13.433 billion.

Compared to the same period last year, revenue collections in the January-to-June period increased by 5.22 percent or an additional of P22.621 billion.

Digitization

The agency attributed the revenue growth to the improved valuation methods and the ongoing digitization and modernization of its systems.

“Our efforts not only strengthen fiscal stability but also support crucial national development initiatives, including infrastructure projects, education, health care and national security enhancements,” Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubiso said in a statement on Monday. INQ
