When it comes to mandatory continuing legal education (MCLE), practicing Filipino lawyers are now more empowered to choose the learning mode and platform that is most effective and convenient for them.

ACCESS MCLE

As a pioneer in offering online MCLE and as a standard-setter in the country, ACCESS MCLE is making sure time, budget, or quality of programs will not anymore set an excuse for lawyers not to comply with the continuing education requirement. Aside from the traditional face-to-face seminar format, the learning institution is offering Online On-Demand and Online Flexi-synch MCLE programs.

“Even before the pandemic, ACCESS had always sought to offer MCLE in more creative and more convenient approaches,” says Atty. Peaches Martinez-Aranas, Co-Founder of ACCESS MCLE. “That’s why when the Supreme Court approved the online platform in 2019, we started setting the bar higher in our industry by introducing new and more creative ways to make MCLE more worthwhile for the modern Filipino practitioners.”

Online On-Demand

Dubbed as the “Netflix for Lawyers,” the Online On-Demand learning mode offered by ACCESS MCLE can be considered as the gold standard and has consistently been popular among enrollees. The platform enables lawyers to take their time and watch the recorded learning videos at their convenience, wherever they may be.

ACCESS has been investing in the production of high-quality videos, complemented by creative visuals, clear audio, and gamifications to make each recorded session more engaging and enriching at the same time. The courses and topics have been carefully selected and curated to appeal to the interest and need of different lawyers who are specializing in various fields of expertise.

The Online On-Demand option is ideal for law practitioners who are constantly bearing with very hectic daily schedules. It is also recommended for those who need to take MCLE remotely (whether anywhere in the country or abroad) but could not make it to synchronous or live online classroom setups. It is also the more preferred type by enrollees who could not find time to complete units within the compressed four daylong sessions.

Online Flexi-Synch

ACCESS MCLE

ACCESS has made the synchronous MCLE sessions more flexible. For instance, if an enrollee misses lectures during the first Saturday session of the month, he/she can catch the same lectures on the first Saturday session of the next or even succeeding months. Thus, the term ‘flexi-synchronous.’

“It could be challenging for many to sit through nine hours a day for four long session days to complete the 36 units required, even in the online learning platform. If something comes up and you miss a session, you can easily catch up by taking that same session the next month, or in the succeeding months if your personal schedules get a little tangled,” Atty. Aranas explains.

In the Online Flexi-synch setup, an MCLE enrollee finds more convenience and flexibility in taking all 36 units over a span of 6 months. There is no more need to tediously find for available schedules of missed lectures. Moreover, this option is more popular because it is the most cost-effective—completing all 36 units is just half the price of the traditional and online on-demand MCLE options.

“MCLE is now more flexible to fit in your hectic schedule. Whether Online On-Demand or Online Flexi-synch, ACCESS always makes sure we offer courses that are most relevant for every Filipino lawyer. It is our commitment to help law practitioners keep abreast with the evolving law and jurisprudence,” Atty. Aranas concludes.
