MANILA, Phillippines — The Rotary Club of San Juan Supreme has launched its Supreme Store Project, which provides seed grants to enable deserving individuals to set up sari-sari stores at strategic locations across the country.
The seed grant of P25,000 is used to build the store and buy initial stocks. The club will also provide financial education and business mentoring, while building beneficiaries’ supply chain to ensure cost-effective operations.

During the launch, club members helped Department of Education teacher Jenny-Vi Barroga set up her store in Bayambang, Pangasinan. Barroga said additional income from the store would help fund her dialysis and other treatments.
“It is our hope that we will have a lot of Supreme Stores not only in Pangasinan, but the rest of the country,” said Johun Joshua Santos, Charter president of the Rotary Club of San Juan Supreme.
Sari-sari stores posted around P8 billion in sales in 2023, growing by over a fifth compared with 2022, said a report by analytics firm Packworks.
