Sun Life Global Solutions (SLGS) will continue to hire more employees in the Philippines this year amid bullish projections for its business in the country.
SLGS Philippines vice president Nathalie Bernardo told the Inquirer in an interview in Makati last week that they have been onboarding 10 to 20 people every month and will continue to do so this year to scale up the number of their local employees from about 2,000 currently.
“Right now, we don’t have a projected number in terms of the maximum. So, we’ll continue to hire,” Bernardo said.
“We want to make sure that we continue to support that business,” she added. “So, I think there’s still a lot of opportunity for us to partner with the business to help them transform to a more digital company.”
Bernardo said their Global Capability Center in the Philippines provides actuarial, under writing and legal services, among others, for the Sun Life group’s insurance business.
Meanwhile, SLGS managing director Tarun Sareen said that they are also optimistic with the revenue growth this year, citing they expect it to continue to grow at a double-digit pace. INQ
