MANILA, Philippines  The power arm of Yuchengco-led EEI Corp. has completed a 235.44-kilowatt-peak (kWp) solar rooftop project for a semiconductor manufacturer in Laguna province in a bid to promote renewable energy use.

In a stock exchange filing, EEI Power Corp. said the solar rooftop system is estimated to generate 297,330 kilowatt-hours of power annually and mitigate the carbon footprint of I-PEX Philippines Inc. by 116 metric tons a year.

This is equivalent to saving 50,675 liters of gasoline annually, according to the company.
