In a recent townhall entitled ‘2024 and Beyond,’ the leading motorcycle taxi and delivery service provider in the country Angkas outlined comprehensive initiatives and plans for modernization and stakeholder-centric enhancements, which are poised to reshape the company and its services for the year.
Angkas CEO George Royeca, in his address, touched on continued commitment to the growth of the homegrown motorcycle taxi-hailing app, his pledge to ensure innovative new services for Filipinos, and programs that zero in on biker financial inclusion and empowerment.
The announcement that took center stage was the entry of Angkas in the four-wheel TNVS category through Angcars.
Royeca said, “Angcars is designed to be an advanced ride-hailing app that seamlessly blends affordability with user-friendly navigation.”
He added that the soon-to-be-launched app seeks to introduce options like Angcars Economy and Angcars Plus, which allow passengers to effortlessly request four-seater or six-seater vehicles for a secure, efficient, and hassle-free transport experience.
For the motorcycle taxi app, upcoming additions include Angkas Health and Angkas Padala service features.
Angkas Health brings healthcare services to Filipino homes through a straightforward five-step process that includes home service blood testing by PRC-licensed medical professionals.
On the other hand, Angkas Padala is an intuitive app equipped with digital seller tools, payment and disbursement access, along with nationwide courier services the address the emerging needs to the Filipino “e-preneurs.”
As a follow through to Royeca’s commitment to empower his riders, he addressed the financial inclusion issue of Angkas bikers through the introduction of the AngKash initiative. The pilot program was designed to offer low-cost loans to assist riders in acquiring or upgrading their motorcycles.
Through partnerships with automobile manufacturing giant Honda and Uno Bank, founded on the collective goal of nurturing a new generation of micro-entrepreneurs among Angkas bikers, the revamped AngKash aims to extend this initiative to a larger portion of the biker fleet. The program offers reduced interest rates to enhance financial flexibility and mobility.
In terms of sustainability of operations, Royeca also discussed the need for the homegrown company to ensure optimum levels of efficiency in terms of finding the right balance between manpower and service delivery, vis-à-vis operations. He assured his employees that further growth is expected in the months to come, and they as a company should be ready.
Royeca concluded the ‘2024 and Beyond’ townhall by rallying employees toward a year of innovative service delivery, emphasizing the collaborative effort required. Angkas and Royeca are undeniably pushing the boundaries of service delivery, as evidenced by their thoughtful and creative plans tailored to meet a broader spectrum of needs for Filipinos.
