MANILA, Philippines —Job search platform Bossjob has launched a new feature enabling employers to find talents across Asia, providing more remote work opportunities for Filipino freelancers who seek additional sources of income.
In a statement on Wednesday, the company said its platform now allows recruiters to post job openings accessible to all applicants in specific countries, in the region and the rest of the world.
“With our new international feature and dedicated remote jobs section, we’re not just expanding horizons, but we’re actively dismantling barriers to global employment and fostering a more inclusive, accessible job market,” Bossjob CEO Anthony Garcia said.
Bossjob has observed that remote job postings have doubled since the third quarter of last year, showing the growing trend of this kind of work in the employment market.
Job opportunities
Remote job opportunities available in the platform include those coming from information technology, customer service, human resources, sales, finance, manufacturing, banking and healthcare sectors.

These industries, Bossjob noted, usually look for sales representatives, accountants, administrative assistants and business development managers.
About 32 percent of Bossjob’s over 3 million active job seekers were exploring flexible work options, a trend that has risen during the pandemic.
“In a rapidly evolving job market, Bossjob is at the forefront of the shift towards a project-based economy in the Philippines. Our data show not just a trend but a reflection of a deeper change in work preferences,” Garcia added.

According to a study by financial services company Payoneer, Filipinos are participating in the gig economy due to flexibility of remote work setup and better earning potential should they choose to juggle multiple jobs.
