MANILA  —The Philippine Stock Exchange and Philippine Dealing System (PDS) Holdings Corp. welcomed the appointment of tycoon Frederick Go as Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs.

Go, who is also concurrent head of the Economic Development Group of the Cabinet of President Marcos, is an “ideal fit,” given his extensive experience leading various corporations, including the family’s property giant Robinsons Land Corp.

“PSE and PDSHC believe that Mr. Go is an ideal fit for this position given his business acumen, extensive experience and visionary leadership in the corporate sector,” the PSE-PDS joint statement showed.

“Mr. Go exemplified these traits in his position as president and CEO of a publicly listed company that experienced substantial growth and expansion in the last decade or so, it added.

Go, who took his oath as new Cabinet secretary last week, resigned as head of Robinsons Land and other affiliates within the Gokongwei Group before taking on his current job.

“His exposure and involvement in various sectors, including property, air transportation, banking, power, among others, also gives him a unique perspective of vital industries in the country,” PSE-PDS said in the statement. INQ
