Skyworth preps expanded range of products for PH market
The Philippine unit of Shenzhen-based Skyworth Group Ltd wants to increase the number of their dealerships in the country by a fifth to about 800 this year, as the company ventures into the local air conditioner and washing machine market segments.
James Sun, president of Skyworth Philippines Corp., told reporters that they have so far around 700 dealerships nationwide.
“For 2024, we are planning to expand by 20 percent (and be) in more stores. So, about 100 more (stores). So that means you can access Skyworth products more,” Sun said during the launch-reveal event in Taguig of the company’s first ever local endorser.
The appliance maker has tapped GMA artist Gabriella Louise Ortega Lopez, more popularly known for her screen name “Gabbi Garcia,” as their official endorser in the Philippines.
Meanwhile company deputy general manager Benjamin Yuoankee said that Skyworth is also set to expand their product lineup in the Philippines this year, from selling televisions only to also offer air conditioners and washing machines.
Yuoankee told the Inquirer on the sidelines of the same event that this is planned to be done around the second quarter or third quarter this year, most likely by June.

“Our products have unique features, the eye care feature and the antibacterial remote. So, this is perfect for families that have babies or young children because they sometimes put the remote in their mouths,” he said.
Yuoankee noted that the Philippines is included in their top five markets in Asia, highlighting the country’s significance in growing their business. —Alden M. Monzon INQ
