German industrial production unexpectedly fell in November compared to the previous month, the federal statistics office said on Tuesday, marking the sixth monthly decline in a row.

Industrial production fell in November by 0.7 percent compared to the previous month. Analysts polled by Reuters had predicted a 0.2-percent rise.

The statistics office revised data for October to a 0.3-percent decline in industrial output on the month, instead of a 0.4-percent drop.

The less volatile three-month on three-month comparison showed that production was 1.9 percent lower in the period from September to November than in the previous three months, the office said.
