Marcos admin vows to boost focus on agriculture
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday said the government will intensify focus on agriculture following the decline in inflation for December 2023.
Inflation went down to 3.9 percent in December from 4.1 percent in November 2023, back within the government’s target range of 2 to 4 percent.

“Para sa bagong taon, lalo nating palalakasin ang mga programa para sa agrikultura, at tututukan ang mga hakbang upang mapanatiling abot-kaya ang presyo ng pagkain at iba pang pangunahing bilihin,” Marcos said in an X post.
(For the new year, we will intensify programs for agriculture, and we will focus on steps to make sure that the prices of necessities and other goods remain within reach.)

The President pledged that the government will continue efforts to improve the country’s economy.
