GCash customizes products for carinderia owners, online sellers

MANILA  -E-wallet service provider GCash is working on payment and management solutions that online sellers and carinderia (roadside eatery) owners can use to make operations efficient.

Oscar Reyes Jr., president and CEO of e-wallet operator G-Xchange Inc., told reporters on Tuesday evening these products were targeted to be launched by the first quarter of next year.

“A lot of them are really trying to look for solutions whatever is out there, whether it is tailor-fit for them or not,” he explained.

It was a pain point GCash was trying to address, he said. The products will fall under a unified platform or merchant account.

Reyes said only minimal documentation would be required for ease of onboarding.

“If they have the right solution, more people can buy using GCash. From there, instead of converting GCash into cash, it will be directed to supplier payments,” Reyes said.
