MANILA -Independent tower company Phil-Tower Consortium (PhilTower) is employing artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve the operation of towers acquired from Globe Telecom Inc. and boost energy efficiency.
In a statement on Tuesday, PhilTower announced it was teaming up with data intelligence platform PowerX in the rollout of its network.
“We are steadfast in our commitment to elevating cell tower infrastructure management and performance to always greater standards, all while delivering top-tier service to our valued mobile operator partners,” PhilTower CEO Devid Gubiani said.
PhilTower said that PowerX would offer its expertise in automating business process and “right-sizing power systems and optimizing assets distribution across the portfolio.” The platform of PowerX can detect operational inefficiencies and enable faster response to repair.
“This collaboration underscores our pioneering role in the region, leveraging advanced and actionable deep data, AI and machine learning analytics for network efficiency,” PhilTower chief operations officer PT Pawar said.
“The automation of network analytics at scale from PowerX has significantly reduced time to identify the specific sites with opportunity to optimize and the actions required to better dimension our sites for cost-efficient power and uptime,” Pawar added.
PhilTower and Globe entered into a P20-billion sale and leaseback deal for 1,350 towers in September last year. The telco giant has transferred 810 out of 1,350 towers acquired by Philtower to date.
