Globe, partner tap contractor for data center in Quezon City
MANILA -STT GDC Philippines, a venture between Globe Telecom and Singapore’s ST Telemedia Global Data Centers, that is building the country’s biggest data center in Fairview has tapped Lopez-led First Balfour – Leighton Asia as general contractor for the project.
In a statement on Wednesday, STT GDC Philippines said First Balfour – Leighton Asia will build the STT Fairview Phase 1, which is set for completion by early 2025.
The data center, which will cater to large cloud providers referred to as hyperscalers, had its groundbreaking event last May. It is part of the STT GDC Philippines’ plans to increase its data center capacity by 124 Megawatts.
“STT GDC Philippines is embarking on a transformative journey with the launch of the STT Fairview Phase 1 project. We collaborated with the First Balfour and Leighton Asia joint venture to turn our vision into reality by marrying local expertise with global best practices,” Carlo Malana, STT GDC Philippines president and CEO, said in the statement.
STT GDC Philippines currently has seven data center facilities in Makati, Quezon City and Cavite.
