PCCI, Japanese counterpart ink cooperation deal
MANILA -The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) to strengthen the business and economic cooperation between the two groups.
The PCCI, the country’s largest business organization in terms of membership, said the agreement between the two business chambers marks a significant milestone in the economic relationship of the Philippines and Japan.
“This MOU symbolizes a fresh chapter in our bilateral relations and affirms our shared commitment to enhance economic cooperation. I look forward to working closely together and staying dedicated to coordinating initiatives aimed at fostering dialogue, collaboration and a successful partnership,” PCCI president George Barcelon said in his speech.
Under the MOU, both parties agreed to regularly exchange and disseminate information to open up opportunities to enhance economic cooperation, increase trade and expand investments between the Philippines and Japan.
These span several industries of interest, including in information and communications technology and innovation, agriculture, manufacturing, franchising, tourism, services, and small business development. INQ
