It’s a preview of the inspiring, healthy lifestyle that awaits in Villar City.
On Monday, close to 2,000 employees of the Villar Group trooped over to Villar City to let loose, unwind, and have a good time at the Vista Fun Fest 2023. Here, they got to enjoy fun and exciting games that tested their wits, strength, and camaraderie at one of the open grounds within Villar City, a 3,500-ha masterplanned integrated development spanning 15 cities and towns in Metro Manila and Cavite province.
More than just a typical sportsfest, this gathering among colleagues across the residential and construction groups of the Villar Group was a welcome break from their daily grind, serving as a meaningful celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy work-life balance. It showed that besides building beautiful themed communities through Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc., the group also fosters an environment where their own employees can excel, not just in the boardroom, but also in the playing field and in life.
Rise, united, lead, exceed
Real estate magnate Manuel B. Villar Jr. led the action in this year’s sports fest, themed “Rise, United, Lead, Exceed” (RULE)—a fitting idea to what many companies, including property developers like Vista Land, should aspire for as businesses ride the wave of economic recovery.
The tycoon can also express his happiness and gratitude that they were able to once again mount what used to be an annual gathering, following a four-year pause due to the pandemic.
As early as 5:00 a.m. 12 teams gathered for an energizing calisthenics and a spirited 2-km fun run, followed by a hearty breakfast, cheer dance competition, and even more games that challenged not only their endurance, agility and athleticism, but also their creativity, competitiveness, expertise, and teamwork.
More importantly, however, these games emphasized the importance of sportsmanship—promoting fair play, respect for opponents, and acceptance of victory or defeat with grace. The values of sportsmanship can extend into the workplace as these will encourage employees to approach their professional lives with the same level of integrity and respect, enabling the Villar Group to maintain a culture of excellence in all that they do.
Work-life balance
At the same time, Vista Fun Fest 2023 recognizes the need to have the right balance between work and leisure. After all, a well-rounded, happy employee is a more productive employee.
The Villar Group thus gave its employees an expansive platform where they get to flex their muscles, enjoy the great outdoors, rejuvenate their spirits, and connect with their colleagues on a more personal level. It’s a reminder that life extends beyond the boundaries of the workplace.
‘New center of gravity’
And this is what the 3,500-ha Villar City, where the sportsfest was held, espouses—a holistic lifestyle that enriches the vibrancy and overall quality of life.
Touted as Metro Manila’s “new center of gravity”, Villar City is a thriving nexus where economic, lifestyle, cultural, and leisure activities will converge. It will be a masterplanned development that will stand as a central urban area with ancillary centers and districts.
This pioneering megacity development—which will have 15 satellite cities—will include a modern CBD, a Tech Valley, a university town, subdivisions and residential towers, and premier lifestyle hubs, among others, set amid verdant landscapes with some 1 million trees. The idea is to provide Filipinos with modern, upscale, yet nature-immersed cities to ensure that generations of families and individuals will enjoy safe, healthy living spaces that support active lifestyles.
