Security Bank named ‘best corporate bank’

Tycoon Frederick Dy’s Security Bank Corp. bagged the “best corporate bank in the Philippines” title during the recent awards event organized by the financial publication Asiamoney. Asiamoney recognized Security Bank’s efforts toward innovation, its commitment to social and environmental responsibility apart from its growth and increasing market share.
The prestigious award was accepted in Singapore by the bank’s top executives, senior vice president and corporate banking head Yvonne Marcelo and executive vice president and wholesale banking segment head John Cary Ong.
“The wholesale banking division generated 28 percent of total bank net income in 2022. The gains were across the board and indicative of a corporate banking team recalibrating the business toward greater growth,” Asiamoney said in its assessment of lender. It also recognized Security Bank as one of the country’s best capitalized private domestic universal banks, despite “extreme volatility in 2022.”“At Security Bank, we believe in forging strong partnerships with our corporate clients by taking a proactive approach—understanding their needs, investing in what matters to them and tailoring our BetterBanking solutions to resolve their pain points and address evolving business requirements,” Ong said.

Asiamoney annually conducts rigorous evaluations of financial institutions across various categories, recognizing those that have demonstrated outstanding performance and have made significant contributions to the banking industry.
Security Bank also won recognition as the best retail bank in the Philippines by Alpha Southeast Asia, best for high net worth clients in the Philippines (Asiamoney); and best investor relations company in Philippines (Corporate Governance Asia).
