Just in its second year of becoming the exclusive importer and distributor of Chevrolet brand of vehicles, parts and accessories in the Philippines, The Covenant Car Company Inc. sold a total of 2,763 units from January to December 2011 period, translating to a 36.4-percent year-on-year sales growth.
TCCCI attributed its consistent positive sales to the market’s increased interest in Chevy brand of passenger cars including its new 5-door mini-hatch, the Chevrolet Spark and the award-winning compact sedan, the Chevrolet Cruze.
Chevrolet Philippines’ robust growth gained momentum when its sales figures posted a 54.3-percent increase in its first year of operation after selling 2,025 units from January to December 2010.
These results have definitely contributed to the brand’s astounding global sales activity: a Chevy vehicle sold in every 6.9 seconds!
In the first quarter of 2011, the Cruze won the most coveted award in the local automotive industry after being declared the Best Compact Sedan in its class as well as the Philippine Car of the Year, just another addition to the numerous awards it received in other parts of the world.
The optimism that came from having introduced an award-winning sedan to the Philippine market emboldened the TCCCI to launch another potentially award-winning car, the Chevy Spark. It further gained a massive following after it was used as a main character in a local network’s teen-oriented show.
According to TCCCI, it was never just about the cars for Chevrolet—it proved this in its second year in the business creating a strong base of Chevy support from Chevrolet clients. The number of Chevrolet owners has grown partly from several offerings and other fantastic deals on buying a Chevy brand, the latest of which was the promotion celebrating the brand’s centennial as well as from emphasizing the strong points of coming home with one, like the assurance of a five-year warranty that grants an additional two years of worry-free Chevy ownership.
TCCCI said it spent a good amount of time with its Chevy family—the old and new dealers and customers—through the many events it hosted in 2011.
This is not surprising as Chevrolet celebrated a centennial of automotive excellence last November 3, which meant numerous events designed to cater to all kinds of Chevy enthusiasts.
Last year also saw TCCCI’s efforts at developing a foundation to support more customers. Aside from the 11 current dealerships, TCCCI welcomed five new dealerships in key areas all over the country.
At the company’s thanksgiving dinner for its dealer partners, TCCCI’s president and managing director, lawyer Albert Arcilla, acknowledged Chevrolet’s growing market and the trust they have placed in the car brand. On behalf of the entire team, Arcilla expressed his heartfelt thanks: “Rest assured that we take your trust in the brand and our management group to heart and will treat it as our covenant to constantly keep you, our customers, happy and satisfied.”
