MANILA, Philippines—Heeding President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.s’ directive to ramp up the shift to digital processes for efficient and fast government service, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has developed and launched an automated platform for licensing and permit processes.

Called Online Processing System with Digital Payment System (OPS-DPS), the project is aimed at streamlining and expediting the processing and issuance of licenses, permits, certificates and other documents for telecommunications and internet infrastructure.

The system was used at a demo in the NTC with Htech Corp, the project’s system provider, with representatives from the country’s top telecommunications companies.

The pilot implementation of the system will be in the NTC’s Services and Interconnection Division.

The DPS component of the project would be launched in September in preparation for a grand launch of the entire OPS-DPS system in October 2023.

The demo was attended by representatives of telecommunications firms Converge, Dito, Globe and Smart PLDT.
