MANILA -Former Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III has joined the Ty family conglomerate GT Capital Holdings as independent director.
He replaced Pascual Garcia III, who will remain as GT Capital advisor to the board, the banking, automotive, property and infrastructure giant said in a stock exchange filing on Monday.
“We warmly welcome Mr. Dominguez to GT Capital and look forward to his valuable insights and contributions to the company, given his wealth of experience in both the country’s public and private sectors. Mr. Dominguez is certainly supportive of GT Capital’s commitment towards nation building,” GT Capital chair Francisco Sebastian said.
“With his guidance, we are confident that the Group will continue to help grow the Philippine economy,” he added.
Dominguez was Finance Secretary during the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and also served as the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources under the administration of the late President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino.
He also served a chair and president of Philippine Airlines, chair of RCBC Capital Corp., director of Manila Electric Co. and president BPI Agricultural Development Bank.
