Tycoon Manuel B. Villar Jr. and his family led on Tuesday the formal opening of Villar Avenue, a 6.2-kilometer road that will serve as the main artery of his most ambitious project to date, Villar City.

“The opening of Villar Road is an important milestone for us as this signifies our strong commitment to help spur progress in more areas in the South,” said Villar, chairman of the Villar Group.

Anchored on Villar City’s meticulously designed masterplan, Villar said the road  is seen to improve connectivity among cities in the metro and Cavite, while helping generate jobs, open up more opportunities and pave the way for growth and expansion.

The Chairman is joined by his three children, Vista Land President and CEO Manuel Paolo Villar, Sen. Mark Villar and House Deputy Speaker and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar.

The 10-lane avenue—which starts at the juncture of The Crossing Cafe and Dear Joe along Daang Hari Road—is expected to help decongest traffic and reduce travel time from Las Piñas to portions of Bacoor and Dasmariñas in Cavite province.

At the same time, it will also connect the different satellite cities within the 3,500 hectare Villar City, which passes through 15 cities in Metro Manila and Cavite.

The newest landmark venture of Villar, Villar City is envisioned to become Metro Manila’s “new center of gravity”, a thriving nexus where economic, lifestyle, cultural, and leisure activities will converge.

It will be a massive masterplanned integrated development that will be composed of 15 satellite cities.

Recognizing the importance of road and infrastructure in progress and development, Silang Mayor Atty. Kevin Anarna, Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon, Dasmarinas Mayor Jenny Barzaga, Dasmarinas Rep. Villar Road traverses from Crossing 1, where The Crossing Cafe currently stands, all the way to UTown which connects to the University District of Dasmarinas City.

The 10-lane road will have a total width of 51.90 meters and will have a lane dedicated for a bus rapid transit (BRT). The sidewalk, 7.9 meters wide, will have a landscaped strip lined with pine trees as well as a dedicated biking lane on each side.

The road will have no obstructions because all the utilities are planned to be placed underground, making the property more conducive to the massive masterplanned integrated development—a pioneering “city within cities”.
