DMW chief taking 2-week break
Migrant Workers Secretary Toots Ople is going on a two-week break following the consecutive deaths of her two elder brothers, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.
In a statement, the DMW said Ople had requested for a two-week break to spend time with family and to attend to her own wellness needs.
“I profusely thank President Marcos Jr for not just granting my request but also for conveying his personal condolences,” the statement quoted Ople as saying.
Ople said she needed time to grieve and be with members of her family
while also looking after her own wellness needs.
She also sought prayers for her two brothers—former Hagonoy Mayor Felix “Toti” Ople and former journalist Blas F. Ople Jr.
