Since 2004, PHINMA Education has been tailoring its learning strategies to benefit those who need it most. Today, it has expanded its mission to serve the underserved across nine institutions in the Philippines and one in Indonesia. Its students and graduates continue to show impressive academic outcomes and have been able to uplift not only themselves but also their families and communities.
PHINMA Education students continue showing impressive outcomes in professional licensure exams, with overall passing rate for first-time takers remaining high at 79%. Throughout the year, students and schools across the network were recognized for ranking among the top nationwide across several disciplines.
In the Criminology exams, Jenny Rose Linay-on Mencede, Ly Ann Luna Bernaldez, and Joshua Lomibao Manipud placed 3rd, 4th, and 9th respectively, while PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College (COC) was the best-performing school nationwide.

Beyond the Philippines
Students’ achievements go beyond the Philippines. In Horizon Karawang, a school managed by PHINMA Education in Indonesia, students Muhammad Rakha and Meisya Rafacintya were chosen for the regional Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation – NEXTGen Leadership Program. They will be involved in projects that focus on mental health in Asia.
International graduates of SWU PHINMA also produced impressive results in their respective countries. Passing rates for Nursing and Dentistry are at 100% in Nepal. In Medicine, our Indian students achieved an 82% passing rate while our Nepalese students attained a 67% in their respective licensure exams.
Meeting Students Where They Are
“Most of our students come from humble backgrounds and limited resources but our employability rates and board passing rates continue to improve across the network. This reaffirms that with supportive learning programs, we can make lives better for thousands of underserved youth,” said PHINMA Education Chief Learning Officer Francis L. Larios.
Active Learning (AL) and the Student Success Program (SSP) help prepare students for their future. The former emphasizes learning by doing and learning by thinking (i.e., thinking about the process and results of a learning activity), while the latter focuses on supporting students as they progress toward graduation.
PHINMA Education continues to remain accessible to those who need it most, through programs such as the Hawak Kamay (HK) Scholarship that can cut a student’s tuition fee by up to 75%. To help improve employability, the network has over 450 active industry partners that help train and equip the students with skills appropriate to each industry’s needs.
Throughout the school year, PHINMA Education served over 124,000 students across ten schools in the Philippines and Indonesia, the highest number in the network’s history.
PHINMA Education Holdings, Inc. (PEHI) is the education services subsidiary of PHINMA Corporation, a Filipino-owned conglomerate with investments in education, property development, hospitality, and construction materials. PEHI owns and operates nine schools across the Philippines and manages one in Karawang, West Java, Indonesia.
