Megaworld Lifestyle Malls wins big at Retail Asia Awards 2023

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls took home two prestigious awards at the recently-concluded Retail Asia Awards 2023 in Singapore, scoring massive wins as the lone mall developer from the Philippines to win in this year’s edition of the annual regional event.

Iloilo’s most beautiful mall, Festive Walk Iloilo, was named “Mall of the Year,” earned through reinventing itself to becoming the center of arts, culture, and community gatherings; while Megaworld Lifestyle Malls itself has been recognized with the “Marketing Initiative of the Year” for its #ExtraChristmas campaign.

Inspired by the city’s culture and dynamism, Megaworld Corporation launched Festive Walk Iloilo as its first lifestyle mall outside Manila in 2018, revolutionizing the mall-going experience the Iloilo City and its people have been accustomed to.

When the global pandemic hit the world in 2020, Festive Walk Iloilo brought back the joys of malling by extending its services and features to uplift the community. It anchored its plan of action based on what locals love and miss the most: arts, culture, and celebrations. As a result, the mall surpassed its pre-pandemic revenue, foot traffic.

The Extra Christmas campaign was designed to align and go beyond Filipino trends and traditions during the ‘ber’ months of the year. Apart from focusing on the things Filipino enjoy in those months such as shopping, decorating and eating out, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls went the extra mile by offering extra experiences to its customers – from longer mall hours, bigger venues and spaces for large gatherings, larger than life attractions, and bigger and louder Christmas parties and events.

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls’ #ExtraChristmas campaign was a resounding success, with increased daily foot traffic and sales by its conclusion. With the abundance of events, activities, and promotions, the campaign garnered remarkable numbers across its 20 properties, making last year’s festivities its biggest Christmas in years.
