Hotel101 set to launch QC project

MANILA  -DoubleDragon Corp., led by tycoons Tony Tan Caktiong and Edgar “Injap” Sia II, is readying the launch of new domestic Hotel101 condotels after booking brisk sales in its Cebu project.

The developer, which is also expanding Hotel101 overseas, said its 548-room project near the Mactan Cebu International Airport was fully sold in 21 months.

Also sold out were its Hotel101 projects in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City and Hotel101 Manila in the Mall of Asia complex.

“We are excited to very soon announce the start of our third Hotel101 project in Metro Manila and first in Quezon City, the 745 room Hotel101-Libis Bridgetowne in E. Rodriguez Avenue, Libis Quezon City,” DoubleDragon chief investment officer Hannah Yulo-Luccini said in a statement on Wednesday.

DoubleDragon said the company was also planning to build Hotel101 branches in Boracay, Palawan and Bohol.

The projects would help the hotel group reach revenues of about P18 billion. This excludes earnings from its overseas projects, the statement showed.

Hotel101 develops condotels whose rooms are sold to individual investors but are managed by the company.

The model relies on keeping prices more affordable and it differentiates itself from competitors by offering uniform-sized rooms across all of its locations.

Meanwhile, the Hotel101 Cebu project will be the first in the chain to adopt the company’s standardized “happy room” concept, which also features artificial intelligence-designed banig accents.

A banig is a traditional Philippine handwoven mat.

“The new Hotel101 global look has been designed for construction and operational efficiency, optimizing the use of modular furniture and fixtures as well as the use of pre-fabricated bathrooms,” the developer said in a statement.

“Hotel101 is expected to become known as one of the most technologically advanced hotel chains across all parts of its value chain. The next version of the Hotel101 App is set to integrate the fully automated self-check-in system with IOT (internet of things) capabilities,” I t added.

“If there is one hotel chain that can optimize the use of modern technology in the global hospitality space, we believe it will be Hotel101, given its pioneering standardized signature 21-sqm HappyRooms and asset-light concept globally,” Sia said in the statement.
