Achieving personal fulfillment means different things to each of us. Fulfillment is not just an internal feeling — it can also be manifested outwardly in the world around you.
Manulife Philippines offers an opportunity for Filipinos to pave their own path toward fulfillment and start their meaningful success stories by becoming financial advisors. As a Manulife financial advisor, you can build a career with a global financial services company, enjoy unlimited income, travel the world, and make a positive impact on people’s lives. Even in the face of global economic challenges that may have disrupted the realization of such dreams, a career as a Manulife financial advisor can make them achievable—whether you are seeking a full-time job, a lucrative side hustle, or a transformative career shift.
“Manulife considers the growth and development of its financial advisors as integral to the company’s growth story. No matter what their lifestyle and aspirations are, we are committed to encourage their individual definitions of success, and foster an environment that enables them to realize their goals,” said Rahul Hora, President and Chief Executive Officer, Manulife Philippines.
Own a home, explore 20 countries – all in your 20s!
To recent university graduates, success may be finding a career that provides a good starting income and helps them achieve their goals, and this is exactly what Kim Zandueta and Kito Zialcita found in Manulife. Right after graduation, the two of them became Manulife financial advisors, which enabled them to invest in their own properties and travel to various countries, all while they’re in their 20s.
“After graduation, you imagine all of the opportunities ahead of you. Iniisip ko what kind of life is waiting for me. I never thought I would be earning so much so soon after I graduated when I took on this career. At 25 I was able to buy my own house and condo. The income I get now, I won’t get from another job. Since I started a career as a Manulife financial advisor, I never stopped,” Zandueta said.
“Travel really motivates me, and my job as a Manulife financial advisor allowed me to go to places and do the things I’ve never even imagined doing, like having lunch inside the Eiffel Tower. I’m happy that at 29, I’ve already been to 20 countries. Financial advising is an endeavor that’s worth doing for a lifetime,” Zialcita added.
Give your family your prime time, not your spare time.
For many Filipinos, spending time with loved ones is vital to a life of fulfillment. This can be especially true for parents. Being a Manulife financial advisor offers a career path for those who want to be more involved with their children’s growth and life milestones. This is something Myra Kintanar, who worked as a product manager for 18 years, found especially poignant after she found out she was pregnant with her second child. “I realized my family was growing and I knew I would need more quality time with them,” she said. Joining Manulife after years in the corporate world, she now has more time for her family, while pursuing her personal hobbies and interests.
Talit Co, who used to be a schoolteacher, found that becoming a financial advisor would allow her to devote time to her daughter and teach other children. “I will always love teaching, and my work now as a financial advisor allows me to teach my clients financial literacy — helping them prepare for their future while volunteering to teach young kids and homeschooling my daughter,” she said.
Even those who are not parents yet would still cherish the precious family time that a career in financial advising can provide. “When my dad got sick in 2012, I was with him almost every single day because I could work from anywhere. That would not have been possible if I were still a flight attendant,” MM Tan said. “I used to give my family my spare time, but now I give them prime time. Being a Manulifer will give you a flexible career that lets you work anywhere, anytime, without compromising quality time with your loved ones.”
Be your own boss and change lives for the better
Even professionals who have found some semblance of growth and success in their office jobs have discovered newfound freedom by becoming Manulife financial advisors.
Jo Casareo, a previous HR Practitioner, admitted that she was okay with her corporate job but has always been longing for a sense of fulfillment in her career. “I wanted more freedom, more flexible hours, and to be my own boss. By joining Manulife, I was able to leverage my HR experience as I meet people from different walks of life as a financial advisor.”
Former nurse Maries Relente said Manulife has empowered her to continue helping people and making a difference in their lives, all while earning a better income. “When I was a nurse, I was happy to be helping people, but the reality is, hindi sapat ang kinikita ko to provide for my family. Kaya I looked for a way where I can still make a difference in people’s lives but earn so much better,” she said.
Maries also added that being a Manulife financial advisor allowed her to help more people prevent unfortunate financial challenges. “Nung nurse ako, nalulungkot ako pag nakikita kong hirap magbayad ang pamilya ng pasyente. Ngayong financial advisor na ako, I can teach my clients how they can be more financially prepared through financial and health planning, so they can avoid these situations.”
Pursue your passion, be true to yourself, and make dreams happen
James Peralta, Jr. decided to step out of his comfort zone and reinvent himself after being an airline executive for so long. “When you have dedicated yourself to a career for so long, it seems hard to imagine that you would still choose to do something new. But this chance to reinvent myself with Manulife came along,” said Peralta. “Success for me is having the privilege to choose the work that I do and the way I would like to do it. Being a Manulife financial advisor has strengthened my mission to spark change, touch lives, and help make dreams happen.”
Cherrie Brinas used to be a banker, but in her desire to be true to herself, she took a leap of faith to become a Manulife financial advisor. “It’s so important to me to be part of a company that celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion. I have two sons who belong to the LGBTQ+ Community, so I know too well how important it is to be able to express yourself freely. Sa Manulife, you can be your authentic self,” Brinas said. She also appreciates the perks. “The dream house I wanted to build and the luxury car I wanted to drive, nakuha ko ‘yan in such a short amount of time.”
